Make 2026 Too Big to Rig—Release Your Inner Dragon
Greetings everyone,
Happy Lammas, the beginning of the harvest and the Celtic cross-quarter day between the summer solstice and the fall equinox. And because of the work of many, we actually do have the beginnings of a harvest: we have real hope now, particularly for the midterm elections, to rein in this madness. And of course, that hope is dependent on each and every one of us.
There are only 90 days to continue the groundwork before the election—a short time, so we must act now. And as the folks at Movement Voter Project put it: “Make 2026 too big to rig.” I recently heard a commentator say that if the margins are narrow in local and national elections, it makes it easier to steal them. But if the margins are large enough, it’s practically impossible.
So, consider unleashing your inner dragon. In the qigong that I teach, dragons synthesize both the infinite potential of heaven—because they fly in the air—as well as the manifest energy of earth (where they live). In much of Asian cosmology, dragons are kind, wise and powerful.

I made this painting out of my grief, frustration and anger about the ICE murders, not just of young mothers and fathers, but also of America’s soul. I pray our dragons melt away the terrors of our times: ICE, environmental degradation, war, misogyny—hopefully all the death throes of patriarchy.
Who are these dragons in my painting? They are anyone who stands up and acts for freedom, justice, peace, equality. What is important to you? Maybe it is health, peace of mind, clean air, safety for yourself and others. Whatever it is, the outcome of our actions in the midterm elections will affect all of us on our beautiful planet.
My greatest hope is that you, your friends, your family, and everyone you know will be inspired to volunteer, donate, write postcards, organize—even in small ways—since they build up into big waves of change. This list from my website is full of excellent opportunities for participating in democracy. As always, please feel free to forward this information. Please join us in the harvest!
Love,
Hallie
